follow my lead to a happier me

understanding from others can take time- but so does the transitioning process. I started doing research and taking the steps for myself while my family got on board. For me, it was important to let my family know I was going to pursue top surgery and testosterone with or without their support. I asked them to follow my lead. I also told them I wanted to share a part of myself that I didn't necessarily need them to understand, but to accept. It's been nearly three years since I came out to them as nonbinary in an email. I'm alright with the fact that all of them may not completely understand; thankfully, they make a genuine effort, are open to learning, and support me.
